HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY TO: Tom Galloway

SPIRIT WEEK: Get ready for the Spirit Days next week with:

Wednesday – Color Day (7th Grade Orange, 8th Grade Yellow)

Thursday – Hawaiian Day

Friday – Red & Gray Day

SPORTS:

GIRLS’ SWIMMING & DIVING: Any girl interested in joining the Swimming & Diving team should plan to attend the meeting in the MS Conference Room after the Pledge on Monday morning.

SPORTS PHYSICALS: If you plan on participating in an Early Winter or Late Winter sport (Basketball, Cheer, Swimming or Wrestling) and you have not turned in a physical form, get an appointment scheduled NOW.

YOUTH HOCKEY information is available on the table outside the office. This is through the Norton Shores program.

FOOD SERVICE:

Breakfast and Lunch are FREE to all students!

LUNCH TODAY: Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Tomato Soup

LUNCH MONDAY: Meatball Sub, Chips, Steamed Broccoli

PARENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES: Watch for an email detailing the Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for October 6th & 7th .

COVID-19 STUDENT HEALTH SCREENING:

Please make sure to complete the following screening for each student. If your child has any of the following symptoms, it indicates a possible illness that may decrease the student’s ability to learn and may put others at risk.

SYMPTOMS – NEW OR NOT TYPICAL FOR THE CHILD

Any ONE of these:

□ Cough (for students with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)

□ Shortness of breath

□ Difficulty breathing

□ Loss of taste OR loss of smell

□ Confusion or change in mental status

□ Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

□ Pale, gray or blue-colored skin, lips or nail beds, depending on skin tone

□ Inability to wake or stay awake

OR any TWO of these:

□ Temperature of 100.4 or higher OR feeling feverish

□ Chills

□ Rigors

□ Muscle aches

□ Sore throat

□ Diarrhea

□ Nausea OR vomiting

□ Congestion OR runny nose

□ Headache

□ Fatigue

If the answer is YES to any one symptom in the first group or any two symptoms in the second group, notify the school and keep the student home. Contact your child’s medical provider for direction and possible COVID-19 testing.

PHOTOS: Each year the MS Writing and School Publishing class is in need of photos from middle school events. Please email photos you would like to share to Aaron Zuelke at azuelke@springlakeschools.org and put MS Pictures in the Subject.

STAY INFORMED: Log into your Parent Account and click on Notifications. Choose what reports you would like automatically emailed to you (it is suggested to start with Summary of Grades & Attendance and Daily Announcements). The frequency also needs to be selected, DAILY is recommended to start with.
