EARLY RELEASE FOR THIS WEEK: Friday, December 15: Freshman Boys Basketball has an early release at 2:30. Bus leaves for Grand Haven at 2:45.

TIMERS ARE NEEDED FOR TONIGHT! Timers needed for home boys swim meet TONIGHT at 6:00 pm. Please sign up in Athletic Department.

SCHOOL WIDE SECRET SANTA IS FOR EVERYONE! Sign up during lunch, this Wed and Thurs to join in the fun. Once you’ve committed, you will need to draw a name during your lunch this Friday. There are only three days of school next week to participate, so be on your game. Keep it secret until Wednesday, Dec 20 when you reveal your name to your recipient. Remember not to disappoint, be sure to follow through, your recipient is counting on you!

Secret Santa Gifting Schedule:

- Monday, Dec 18- give a locker sign

- Tuesday, Dec 19- candy!

- Wednesday, Dec 20- a $1-$3 gift!

PARENTS OF CURRENT SENIORS: The Class of 2018 All-Night Committee is now accepting registration forms and payment at a reduced cost. If you register your senior by Dec 20, the cost is only $60 ($15 savings). If you wait and register your senior after the holiday break, the cost will be $75. The evening consists of an amazing venue and awesome activities and food. It will take place starting at 10PM on Thursday, May 17 to 4AM on Friday, May 18. In years’ past, students have really enjoyed this event. Registration forms can be found through a previous SchoolMessenger email or you can pick one up in the office. Please turn payment and form into Mrs. Love in the office. If you have any questions, contact Mary Bouwhuis (bouwhuis@charter.net). Note that donations are also being accepted to help sponsor this event. If you wish to donate, please contact Shelly Saunders (jssaunders@charter.net).

SANTAGRAMS FOR SALE! Send that special someone a Santagram this Christmas. This includes a special holiday message and treat. Santagrams are on sale during lunches and in Mrs. West and Mrs. Henry’s rooms (before or after school). The cost is .25 cents each or 5 for $1; If you buy 25, you get 5 FREE! Super-sized Santagrams are available for $1 each. Sales only go until Monday, Dec. 18! Please help support Kids’ Food Basket. Shhh..a little elf also mentioned that if you go the library and check out a book, you get a coupon for extra-special deal!

THE CORNER COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DIVERSITY CONCERT: This Friday, December 15 at The Corner Auditorium, located at 280 W Muskegon Ave. (downtown Muskegon), they will be hosting a Christmas Diversity Concert to help support the programs of The Corner. The event will be a diverse list of performances which consist of choral, instrumental, youth choirs, soloists, and dancers and carols. It begins at 7PM and the cost is FREE! All are invited.

INTERESTED IN COSMETOLOGY? The Salon Professional Academy is hosting Christmas Break Cosmetology Camp at the Academy on Thursday, December 28th from 1-3pm. This is open to all 9th - 12th graders. There is a $20 fee or $15 if you register with a friend. For more information or to pick up a registration form, stop by the guidance office. Space is limited!

DO YOUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING AT THE HIGH SCHOOL! Don’t forget to do some Christmas shopping in the high school’s Laker Locker. We are offering winter hats, baseball caps, youth and adult apparel, ornaments and more. Store hours are 7:30-3pm, Monday thru Friday. Please know that we only accept CASH or CHECK….no credit cards please. Reminder that the high school office will be closed for the holiday starting Thursday, December 21

JUNIOR GIRLS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN GOVERNMENT: Girls State is a free program providing the opportunity for students to experience government at the State and local levels. Girls State will be held on the campus of Michigan State University from Sunday, June 17 to Saturday, June 23. See Mr. Sabo if you are interested in this opportunity

SENIOR PICTURES: Senior pictures must be turned in to the yearbook no later than January 17. You may email a digital copy of your vertical photo to Mrs. Clark at sclark@springlakeschools.org or you may turn in 4 vertical wallet size copies to her in room 400. The picture(s) will be used in the yearbook, the Tribune, and your class composite. If you have not yet made an appointment with a photographer, do so immediately to ensure having your photos by mid-January.
